UM BRIDGES trainee Naomi Neal recently completed an internship with the Missoula Valley Water Quality District.

Naomi worked independently on a research project concerning the use of irrigation infrastructure for managed groundwater recharge, doing the bulk of her research work on-site at the WQD office. Naomi acquired useful knowledge about groundwater and the history of its management in the west. She also credits the overall the experience in helping prepare her for her career goals in water management and agriculture, and helping to strengthen her graduate portfolio. Her research and work with WQD is in keeping with the UM BRIDGES mission of advancing societally-relevant science toward more sustainable food-energy-water systems.
